Federica Mogherini - We see the risk of reforms in the sphere of supremacy of law going backward in Georgia

We see the risk of reforms in the sphere of supremacy of law going backward in Georgia – said Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission at a plenary session of the European Parliament where she talked about Eastern Partnership.

According to Mogherini, conflicts did not disappear on the continent. She said that the situation with respect to security in Georgia had turned to the worse at the administrative border line with South Ossetia for the last months. That is why the EU was increasing the representation of its mission at the site.

“Support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and state sovereignty is not a mere statement or declaration of principles. This is the ground of our everyday work at the place. Georgia is a close and reliable partner in the neighborhood,” High Representative of EU said.
