External merchandise trade up 25.1% in January-November 2021

In January-November 2021 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 12 822.2 million, 25.1 per cent higher than the same period of 2020, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) reported on Monday.

The exports equaled USD 3 822.9 million (26.7 per cent higher), while the imports stood at USD 8 999.3 million (24.5 per cent higher).

The negative trade balance was USD 5 176.4 million in January-November 2021 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 40.4 per cent.

In January-November 2021, the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 77.5 per cent. The top partners were China (USD 569.1 million), Russia (USD 549.1 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 488.3 million).

The share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 66.9 per cent. The top partners were Turkey (USD 1 605.1.5 million), Russia (USD 926.2 million) and China (USD 790.4 million).
