Exports of Georgia 26.0 % up in January-August 2021

The exports of Georgia (excluding non-declared exports) in January-August 2021 equalled USD 2,610,8 million, 26.0% higher year-on-year, Georgia’s National Statistics Office (GoStat) reported on Monday.

Share of the domestic exports in total export constituted 72.7% and amounted to USD 1,899,1 million, 28.7 % higher year-on-year. The top partners were China (USD 400,1 million), Russia (USD 344,1 million) and Turkey (USD 200,8 million), GeoStat noted.

As to the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade), the agency said it amounted to USD 8,683,5 million, 22.3% higher year-on-year. The exports equaled USD 2,610,8 million (+26.0%), while the imports reached USD 6,072,7 million (+20.7%). The negative trade balance was USD 3,461,9, and its share in external trade turnover constituted 39.9%, GeoStat stated. The top partners were China (USD 421.,8 million), Russia (USD 377,1 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 347,0 million).

According to the agency, the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 67.8%. The top partners were Turkey (USD 1,075,4 million), Russia (USD 634,8 million) and China (USD 519,5 million).

Share of the top ten trading partners in Georgia’s total external trade turnover amounted to 70.1%. The top trading partners were Turkey (USD 1,286,9 million), Russia (USD 1,011,9 million) and China (USD 941,3 million).
