EU High Representative urges political parties to prioritize interests of Georgian people

“I want to reiterate the need for all leaders of all Georgian political parties to put the interests of the Georgian people first, to make the necessary compromises and to turn the attention to other urgent issues.” High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borell, stated during a press conference following the Foreign Affairs Council on 22 March 2021.

“We discussed Georgia, following the intense mediation efforts by the European Union last week to overcome the political crisis in the country. I briefed the ministers about EU-Georgia Association Council that I chaired last Tuesday and about the EU mediation efforts through the personal envoy designated by European Union Council President Charles Michel. The work continues. I want to reiterate the need for all leaders of all Georgian political parties to put the interests of the Georgian people first, to make the necessary compromises and to turn the attention to other argent issues like coronavirus pandemic, economic recovery and national security,” Josep Borell said.
