EU Ambassador to Georgia – It is high time that the sides talked less about each other and talked more to each other

We fully support the right of freedom of expression and manifestation and believe that this right should be practised legally and within the constitutional framework – Carl Hartzell, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia said after the meeting with Davit Songhulashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Parliamentary European Integration Committee.

The EU Ambassador to Georgia welcomed holding of a meeting between representatives of the ruling Georgian Dream party and opposition planned for November 30.

“The European Union wanted to see the dialogue since we believe that it is high time that the sides talked less about each other and talked more to each other. It seems that everything is going in that direction and the dialogue is to place tomorrow. We believe that there is an emergency need for that and we support this format. It is the responsibility of both sides to work on the framework, an outline,” Hartzell said.

The EU Ambassador to Georgia said that the international community was looking forward to wider discussions about the political situation in Georgia and claimed that the international organizations would be involved in this process.

Representatives of the ruling Georgian Dream party and opposition will hold a meeting on November 30 – Irakli Kobakhidze, a member of the parliamentary majority said. The so-called German Model of elections will be the main topic for discussions and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps will attend the meeting.
