Ekaterine Tikaradze: Early in May, the number of PCR tests will be filled up to 100,000

Ekaterine Tikaradze, the Minister of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health, and Social Affairs of Georgia, says that the country continues multi-stage testing for coronavirus, including rapid tests and Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.

According to Minister, as of today, the country has a complete set of more than 10,000 PCR tests.

“We expect an additional 40,000 tests on Monday. Early in May, the number of PCR tests will be filled up to 100,000. At this stage, more than 5,000 rapid tests have already been used in the country. We have distributed 9,000 tests in hospitals, where both patients and the staff are tested, the suspicious cases re-checked by PCR for final confirmation” – Ekaterine Tikaradze stated.
