Ekaterine Tikaradze, who announced her resignation as the Health Minister on December 9, was asked by reporters why she did not attend today’s Cabinet meeting and whether it was linked to her protest.

Tikaradze decried any protest, saying: “I believe the protest is destruction. I call on the public to avoid it. There is no need to look for an intrigue that does not exist.”

As for the new candidate for the post, Tikaradze said, “it’s the Prime Minister’s prerogative to nominate and elect a new member of the government.”

On December 9, Ekaterine Tikaradze, who was appointed as the country’s health Minister in 2019, said she would continue her work at the ruling Georgian Dream party’s political council.
