Eka Beselia: When you arrested almost everyone then you moved to arresting the antennas

Eka Beselia, Chairperson of Parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee addressed the opposition lawmakers Sergo Ratiani and Roman Gotsiridze and reminded them the period when the United National Movement (UNM) was in power. Beselia advised them to give up defending media as while discussing such issues they should stand in defensive mode.

Eka Beselia spoke about media environment during the provisions government at today’s parliamentary session, where the package of amendments proposed to be made into Law on Broadcasting has been discussed through the second hearing.

“When you finished arresting people and no one left outside, you moved to arresting the antennas and destroyed the equipment at the customs. Bidzina Ivanishvili managed to defeat you in such conditions, when there was no free environment or speech. Today you allow yourself to talk about media freedom, you, who attacked television with Special Forces”, – Beselia said.
