According to the Institute of Earth Sciences and the National Center for Seismic Monitoring, an earthquake hit Georgia on Sunday, at 15:34 Tbilisi time.

The epicentre of a 4.8 magnitude earthquake was reported in Russia, near Chechnya, 52 km from the state border.
