Driving while being under influence of drugs or psychotropic substances will become a criminal offense starting April of 2019.

Eka Beselia, Chairwoman of Parliamentary Law Committee told journalists that a new article would be added to Criminal Code of Georgia. Police officers will be equipped with corresponding tests to conduct the procedure.

The parliamentary Law Committee discussed the changes prepared about marijuana consumption and backed the proposed amendments with the third hearing today.

Likewise smoking of tobacco, consumption of marijuana elsewhere other than the private space of a person will be prohibited.
