President Donald Trump is scheduled to travel to Fort Drum on Monday to sign a $717 billion annual defense policy bill aimed at rebuilding the military, according to a senior White House official.

Congress passed the legislation last week as part of the final installment of a two-year budget deal that hikes defense spending.

According to the document, in which Georgia is mentioned, the support aims to strengthen Georgia’s defense capabilities and readiness. As well as to improve the interoperability of the Georgian forces with NATO standards.

The draft law also notes that Georgia and Ukraine should be involved in the exercises planned in the Black Sea.
