Dimitri Tskitishvili - Russia does not have will to use Geneva format for peacekeeping processes

The revision of the format of the Geneva Talks is not so essential as the will of the certain sides, in this case the will of Russia to use the Geneva format for peacekeeping processes actually – Dimitri Tskitishvili, the member of the Foreign Relations Committee made the regarding statement.

According to him, Russia does not have intention to use the Geneva Talks for peaceful purposes and tries to demonstrate current format as worthless.

„Russia does not take particular steps and by suggesting a new format tries to demonstrate that the current format is worthless. Obviously, if the same country is included in a new format with the same policy, it will be worthless as well” – Tskitishvili said.

According to the MP, if Russia activates the talks on the Geneva format and puts it into the deadlock, Georgia will have only leverage – support of the international community. “The fact that the EU and the US are involved in the negotiations already gives the possibility to discuss the problematic issues within the international format”, – Tskitishvili said.
