Detainees into case of Tsotne Gamsakhurdia’s attempted murder includes the victim’s friend

The detainees into the case of attempted murder of Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, the son of the first president of Georgia, include the victim’s friend Petre Kuparadze – Lawyer Vazha Arobelidze said. 

The lawyer, who is defending Kuparadze’s interests said before entering the Main Police Department that three people out of 5 persons suspected of the crime were detained at Sarphi border checkpoint.

The police detained 5 people into case of the crime. The four detainees are charged for premeditated murder, the firth person – for not having notified about the crime. The detainees will be presented charges today.

Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, the son of first president Zviad Gamsakhurdia, was taken to Khechinashvili clinic after he was wounded at Gali Street in Tbilisi on December 19. His health condition remains critical.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has opened an investigation under Article 19-108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving premeditated murder.
