Deputy Minister of Education: Effective October 19, universities will resume only lab, practical classes

From October 19, universities in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Poti will resume only laboratory and practical classes, other components of the curriculum will be conducted remotely, said the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Nunu Mitskevichi.

“Before the start of the academic year, we kicked off working with the Ministry of Health on safety recommendations. Accordingly, all mandatory recommendations are defined and observed by the universities.

The Department of Labor Inspection of the Ministry of Health inspected all the universities at the beginning of the academic year, issued permits, and therefore we can say that all the spaces that students will find open from October 19 will be safe,” said Mitskevichi.
