Political debates among three qualified presidential candidates will be held on First Channel today. Salome Zurabishvili, an independent presidential candidate supported by the ruling Georgian Dream Party, Grigol Vashadze of National Movement Party and Davit Bakradze representing European Georgia Party will participate in the debates.

First Channel allocates equal airtime to all presidential candidates running in the 2018 presidential polls to be held on October 28 in Georgia. Debates in three different formats will take place on the air of Georgian Public Broadcaster before October 28.

The schedule and sequence were agreed on September 25 during the meeting held at the initiative of First Channel with representatives of all 25 candidates running in the 2018 presidential elections at Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC).

At the decision of First Channel, 10-minute-long airtime will be allocated to all the 25 presidential candidates. The candidates will be able to present their programs to voters in the main news bulletin of “Moambe” starting September 26 till October 25. The debates will be held between 9 qualified and 16 non-qualified subjects.
