Death toll in Sri Lanka bombings revised down to 253

New information has been published regarding the number of victims of Sri Lanka bombings. Sri Lankan authorities have revised the death toll down to 253 people from the previous estimate of 359.

It blamed a calculation error and the difficulty of identifying victims.

A series of terror attacks took place in Sri Lanka on April 21. At least 253 people were killed and more than 500 people were injured. Police have issued photographs of seven people wanted in connection with the attacks. Police say more than 70 people have now been arrested.
