With NATO partners, we agreed 4-5 specific elements that will strengthen the security of the Black Sea, – Davit Zalkaliani, and Georgian Foreign Minister made this statement at the NATO conference in Washington.

According to him, at present, work is underway on the practical implementation of these elements.

“Georgia strengthens the defense. Georgia already meets NATO requirements, and our military spending exceeds 2% of GDP. The safety of the Black Sea is also important. In this case, we are closely involved in a strategic dialogue with NATO. We believe that at tomorrow’s discussion, during the informal ministerial meeting, the protection of the security of the Black Sea will be one of the important topics. At the summit in Brussels, we agreed 4-5 specific elements that will contribute to strengthen the security at the Black Sea. At present, we work on the practical implementation of these elements”, – Foreign Minister said.

Davit Zalkaliani spoke about Russia’s aggression against Georgia and the importance of cooperation with NATO.

“Under Russia’s occupation of Georgia and Ukraine, a united, peaceful European strategic task is not yet fulfilled”, – Minister said.
