Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani has commented on the latest developments in the Donbas, noting that military escalation undermines efforts towards the peaceful settlement.
The Georgian Foreign Minister wrote about it on his Twitter page.
“Deeply concerned over reports of Russian-backed attack on Ukrainian strongholds near Zolote today. Military escalation undermines efforts towards peaceful settlement and ruins any progress in this process”, – Davit Zalkaliani tweeted.
Reportedly, in the morning Russian occupation forces attacked Ukrainian defense positions in Donbas, employing 120 mm mortars, proscribed by Minsk agreements. Under fire cover, the Russian invaders began their offensive operation and attempted to advance through the demarcation line. As a result of the battle, one Ukrainian soldier was killed and another four were injured.
