Covax confirms to provide Georgia with Novavax and Johnson & Johnson vaccines

The Covax platform confirmed to provide Georgia with about 700 000 Novavax and 130 000 Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine shots in the third quarter of the year, said Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health (NCDC).

According to Gamkrelidze, Georgia continues to mobilize vaccine stores to intensify the immunization process.

Gamkrelidze said in Facebook live that in the beginning of July, Georgia would receive about 0.5 million Chinese Sinopharm jabs. Pfizer vaccines are also expected in Q3.

“Georgia will have sufficient stores to begin mass immunization. About 15-16 thousand people should get vaccine jabs every day. The country is preparing for ensuring the corresponding infrastructure,” Gamkrelidze said.
