Covax confirms Georgia gets Pfizer vaccine

“The Covax platform confirmed to us that they are ready to provide a vaccine for medical staff in Georgia,” Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said at a briefing on Wednesday.

Tikaradze added that the medical staff in Georgia would get the Pfizer vaccine at this stage.

The Health Minister underlined that Covax so far confirmed the Pfizer vaccine for Georgia. However, likely, the Georgian citizens would also get access to the Astrazeneca Covid-vaccine soon.

According to Ekaterine Tikaradze, the country is actively preparing for the vaccination. The legislative amendments are needed to ensure the smooth introduction of the Covid vaccine in Georgia. The parliament initiated the draft, so amended legislation is likely to be adopted by the end of January.
