Construction of Archeological Museum ongoing in Mtskheta

Construction of a new Archeological Museum of modern standards is ongoing in Mtskheta town (ancient capital of Georgia) on the basis of an old cinema hall building. The project was worked out with methodological instructions of UNESCO.

Exhibition and conference spaces, as well as an archive and a café, will be located on the premises. Outdoor infrastructure will be also arranged. About 23 thousand artifacts will be presented in the museum.

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia’s Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure is working on the project with the financial support of the World Bank. The cost of the project exceeds 9 million GEL.
