Civil activists to remind EU mediator Danielsson of society request for early elections

Members of the Movement for Georgia civil organization plan to hand over a letter to Christian Danielsson, the European Council President’s special envoy. According to a civil activist, Irakli Kvaratskhelia, the letter concerns the need to call early elections and release political prisoners.

“Struggle of opposition parties for early elections and the release of political prisoners may not be enough. Therefore, Mr Danielsson should know that there is a civil society in Georgia, which has been protesting against election fraud since the second day of the elections. Today the society demands early elections. Mr Danielsson must have information on what civil activists think about this negotiation. We will deliver this letter personally. We will wait as long as it is necessary,” Irakli Kvaratskhelia said.

Christian Danielsson, Personal Representative of the President of the European Council Charles Michel, held a joint meeting with representatives of the opposition and the government today.
