Citizens of 34 countries to be able to register companies in Georgia online

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze reported during the briefing held before the governmental sitting that practice of electronic residence will be introduced in Georgia.

As Bakhtadze informed, citizens of 34 countries will be able to register companies electronically and open bank accounts without the necessity to arrive in the country.

“This is a change of revolutionary importance,” PM stated. According to Bakhtadze, the initiative will be a precondition to make Georgia a financial center.

Bakhtadze said all institutions would be given instructions and corresponding legislative changes would be submitted to the parliament.

Prime Minister today is scheduled to meet with businesspersons to consider the initiative with them in details.
