EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell responds to passing the electoral bill with the first reading by the parliament of Georgia on Twitter.

“I counted 142 votes behind the constitutional deal after 8 March. Welcome that Parliament today cleared first reading with 136 votes. Hope all sides will take responsibility to ensure its final success”, – Carl Hartzell wrote on Twitter.

The Parliament of Georgia has adopted the constitutional amendments on the transition to a 120/30 electoral system for 2020 parliamentary polls with the first reading today. 136 MPs supported the changes, five voted against.
