Canada Magnitski Act to refer to people who carried out aggressive activities against Georgia

The Defense Committee of the Parliament of Canada adopted a resolution according to which the Magnitski Act will also refer to people who carried out aggressive activities against Georgia – Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The resolution was adopted in connection with security challenges facing Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova.

The resolution (Responding to Russian Aggression against Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia in the Black Sea Region) mentions illegal occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions by Russia in 2008 and annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014.
