British Ambassador - I would wish a day to come in Georgia when the role of the international community is less important

Elections and democratization process is continuous and I call on all Georgian parties to handle this issue with such a spirit – Justin McKenzie Smith, British Ambassador to Georgia said during a video conference.

The British Ambassador welcomed approval of Constitutional Amendments on June 29 and described the fact as ‘historic.’

Justin McKenzie Smith said that elections and what the country was doing were most important for the international community.

The Ambassador congratulated Georgian people on insisting on making the changes and thanked the facilitator ambassadors for having been involved in the process.

“If I were provocative, I would wish a day to come in Georgia when the role of the international community is less important,” said the British Ambassador.
