Borjomi will become a Town Museum – the Ministry of of Culture and Monument Protections of Georgia releases the regarding information.
According to Ministry, the project of National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia “Borjomi – Town Museum” envisages the rehabilitation of five unique historic buildings built in XIX-XX centuries, creation of one site attraction and unification in a single museum concept.
According to the project, five museums will function in Borjomi:
- In New Cavalry Building- Museum of Applied Arts;
- In Romanov’s former chancellery – the Museum of History of Borjomi region;
- In the Building of Moldenhouer Hydropower Plant – Industrial Heritage Museum;
- Borjomi Mineral Water Factory – Museum of Borjomi Mineral Water History;
- In Likani Palace – Palace-Museum and multifunctional complex.
Also, at the initiative of the Agency, the site-attraction will be arranged. The “First Railway” in the open air will be created with the first locomotive and the Tsemi-Bakuriani Eiffel Railway Bridge.
