Bidzina Ivanishvili: Fact that circumstances of the death of first president have not been investigated is a shame for our country

The fact that circumstances of the death of the first president of Georgia Zviad Gamsakhurdia have not been investigated yet is the shame for our country, – Bidzina Ivanishvili, Chairman of the Georgian Dream party, noted in his latter published in connection with the upcoming 80th birthday of late Georgian President Zviad Gamsakhurdia.

According to him, the 31st of March is the birthday of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, the first president of independent Georgia, who sacrificed his life to the fight for independence and his death should necessarily be fully investigated.

“How it happened that a man who had been fighting for the freedom of our homeland all his life, who turned the dream of many generations into reality and declared independence of Georgia, tragically died in this independent Georgia and the circumstances of his death are still uninvestigated. This case should necessarily be fully investigated”,  – Ivanishvili said.
