Bidzina Ivanishvili – Nobody has to have illusion that National Movement will come into power by force

Bidzina Ivanishvili, Chairman of Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia Party says that if hypothetically it is possible that the candidate of National Movement Party wins in the second round of 2018 presidential elections, the government has sufficient resources to control and abridge the activities of National movement within the framework of the law.

Ivanishvili answered a question of the journalist of Imedi TV about what would happen if the candidate of National Movement wins in the elections.

Ivanishvili said that if the second round developed with this scenario, National Movement would attempt to act with a revolutionary set-up that would hamper economic development and limit the attraction of investments. “The stability will be low-prognosticated and this will be a lumber for the economy,” Ivanishvili stated.

Ivanishvili said that victory of National Movement in the elections will negatively impact Georgia’s foreign image. “It took many years to the world to realize what National Movement actually represents. Everybody understood who they are in reality. . . . If they come into power again, our alliances and partners will be confused,” he said.
