Batumi Oil Terminal Director denies any pressure by government

The country’s business climate, legislation, liberal tax policy, variety of transparent formats of communication with public agencies can definitely be seen as a favorable environment for business, – reads the statement of Batumi Oil Terminal Director General Murat Jimadilaev released in response to the statement of Fadi Asli, Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce, about the pressure exerted on companies, including Batumi Oil Terminal, since 2012.

According to Murat Jimadilaev, certain persons are trying to mislead the public and similar practice does not contribute to the establishment of a responsible business environment in the country.

“Neither the Batumi Terminal nor the Batumi Sea Port are involved in any kind of illegal process that would have made us suspect that the authorities hamper or damage our activities.

We have repeatedly said that the country’s business climate, legislation, liberal tax policy, a variety of transparent formats of communication with public agencies can definitely be seen as a favorable environment for business.

Finally, we would like to note that dissemination of unverified information does not contribute to the establishment of the responsible business environment in the country,” reads the statement.
