Banking Association of Georgia warns citizens about cyber fraud

Banking Association of Georgia warns citizens about cyber fraud. According to the Association, several cases of cyber fraud, which caused financial loss to the customers, have been recorded recently.

Base on information released by the Association, one of the most common forms of cyber fraud is “phishing”.

The organization calls for caution and issues recommendations to protect from fraudulent.

“Phishing” involves using fake websites of the companies to fraudulently gain access to people’s internet banking details. Typically, a “phishing” email will ask an internet banking customer to follow a link to a fake banking website and enter his/her personal banking details.

According to the Association, generally, cybercrime attempts to deceive the user with a well-known image of companies, therefore users must check everything that is suspicious before any transaction.
