Anthology of Abkhazian Poetry published in Georgian language

Anthology of Abkhazian Poetry has been published in Georgian language. The book contains poems by 65 Abkhazian authors translated by Nika Badzaghua, a young poet and researcher of the Abkhazian literature.

The edition was financed by World of Diaspora, Dutch organization the co-founder of which Lali Butbaia is from occupied region of Abkhazia.

“Founders of the organization World of Diaspora together with myself – Izolda Kvitsiani and Nino Ubilava – are from Abkhazia. The experience showed that before return of territories, Georgians and Abkhazians should restore trust and rebuild relations and ruined bridges,” Butbaia said.

Presentation of the anthology is planned for spring. The editor is Teimuraz Gvantseladze, Professor. Sokhumi State University is the supporter of the project.
