Animals Monitoring Agency releases statement about negative campaign

Animals Monitoring Agency of Tbilisi City Hall released a statement about negative campaign waged on part of former employees against the agency.

“Dreadful video material was released today in the social network shot in a room envisaged for dead animals. The agency clarifies that one of the directions of its activities is receipt of dead animals from across Tbilisi and Rustavi Municipalities and their placement in a special bio-thermal pit. The video-material reflects this process but with distorted reality and staged scene,” reads the statement.

According to Animals Monitoring Agency, only an employee of the agency has access to the special room. Therefore, the agency suspects that a former employee released the material. The agency informs that full reformation is ongoing and some employees are fired for negligence and cruel treatment towards animals that led to the negative campaign and their attempt to discredit activities of the agency’s management and veterinarians.

The agency demands launch of investigation into the origin of the video-material and holding those persons responsible who placed and distributed it in the social network and tried to mislead the public.
