Amiran Gamkrelidze urges citizens of Marneuli and Bolnisi to abstain from movement in those areas

“I urge the citizens of Marneuli and Bolnisi to abstain from movement in those areas,” Amiran Gamkrelidze, head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, said in an interview with Georgian First Channel.

Gamkrelidze noted that a person with fever should contact Geo Hospitals in Marneili where they will be tested for the coronavirus.

“The municipalities and healthcare authorities will make door-to-door rounds in these two municipalities to identify persons with fever, those posing possible risks. Everyone with fever should visit Geo Hospitals where they will be tested for coronavirus. Those individuals have to stay in the hospital for 24 hours, if they test negative, they will be released. If they test positive, they will be hospitalised to the infectious clinics or other hospitals which are operating as coronavirus centres,” Gamkrelidze stressed.
