According to new protocol, a family will be given 72 hours to bury a person who died of coronavirus (COVID-19) – Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health said.

At the same time, Gamkrelidze called on people to refrain from big gatherings. “Keeping the deceased person at home and holding public funeral is safe. One of the main risk factors of virus spread is big public gatherings whether on joyful or sorrowful occasions that is traditional for Georgian people,” Gamkrelidze said.
