Ambassador Clayton hopes Saakashvili’s trial to be free and fair

Mark Clayton, UK Ambassador to Georgia, echoed ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili’s arrest.

“Of course, I saw this detention last night, and I hope that the judicial process from here on will be carried out in a free and fair manner, and of course, with the rule of law and Georgia’s international obligations,” he claimed.

Law enforcers arrested the ex-president in Tbilisi on October 1 and sent him to Rustavi prison.
