Aleksandr Lukashenko – You forgot that Georgia lost almost 1/3 of its territory

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said during his speech delivered when appointing the new government that Belarus was the only post-Soviet country, which had not seen misfortune.

Lukashenko named former Soviet countries, which faced problems including Georgia. He said that peace and stability were the main achievements of Belarus though some people disregarded that.

“Some people think that Ukraine was destroyed somewhere far away and was deprived part of its territory; Moldova that was split into Transdnestr and western part. You forgot how Lithuania fought for independence and sovereignty during Gorbachev’s period. You forgot that there is fire raging in the Caucasus; Armenians and Azerbaijanis fight with each other and cannot reach an agreement. And many forgot that Georgia lost almost 1/3 of its territory – first Abkhazia and then South Ossetia,” Lukashenko said.
