After the appeal of the First Channel of Georgia, the U.S. State Department made a correction in the report

After the appeal of the First Channel of Georgia, the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of U.S. Department of State has corrected the chapter on Georgia in the “International Narcotics Control Strategy Report”. Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs writes about it in a letter sent to the First Channel.

It is about information on Georgia included in the U.S. State Department’s report as if “in July 2018, Georgia legalized the cultivation and production of cannabis for medical purposes and decriminalized its personal use”.

As is known, the draft bill on the cultivation of cannabis for pharmaceutical purposes was really initiated in the Georgian parliament, however, later the bill was withdrawn due to differences on the issue.
