Protest rallies are being held in different districts of Tbilisi in condemning of violence that came as a reaction to the video footage released on September 18 that uncovered torture extorted against inmates in Gldani # 8 Prison.
Uniformed officers in Tbilisi's jail are seen severely beating inmates and sexually assaulting one with a broom.
Parents of inmates gathered at the prison and demand the information about their imprisoned children from the prison’s administration. They even tried to break in the prison.
A protest of students of the Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University (TSU) demonstrated with slogans “Don’t torture Prisoners.” They marched towards the building of the Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB).
They demanded that the GPB covered the ongoing events objectively.
Video footage showing prisoners being abused by guards in Georgia has triggered anti-government protests in the country.
