Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II talked about the importance of blessing in his Sunday sermon held at Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral earlier today.
According to him, blessing has a great power and it changes a person. “If you accept blessing with modesty and belief, it means you are accepting God’ grace and it has a great result,” the patriarch said.
Ilia II said that it is also very important who is giving the blessing. He called on people to keep the blessed water at home. “If you bless your house once in a month, it will be very good,” Ilia II said.
After the sermon the patriarch traditionally blessed the surnames of Cheishvili, Kvelashvili, Zazashvili, Lelashvili and Nikolaishvili.
