Georgia becomes chair of Open Government Partnership

Georgia officially became the chair of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), organization bringing together 75 countries.
Georgia took over the chairmanship of the organization from France for one-year tenure.
The high-level event was held within the 72nd UN General Assembly Session in New York.
Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi kvirikashvili and the President of France Emmanuel Macron delivered speeches during the session.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili said that the chairmanship of the OGP is an honor for Georgia.
According to Prime Minister, today, OGP stands at a turning
point, where each of us should take responsibility in positioning OGP as a
powerful global movement for achieving openness and deeper democracy and as a
countervailing force against the closing of civic space and distrust in
