Georgian Contender of 2017 ESC Dropped out of Race


Tamara Gachechiladze, Georgian entrant at 2017 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) will not sing in the final of the musical competition, to be held at Kyiv's International Exhibition Centre on May 13. She dropped out of the race in the First Semi-final of the 2017 ESC on May 9.

Gachechiladze’s song Keep the Faith was not qualified in the best 10 songs in the 2017 semi-final held at Kyiv's International Exhibition Centre.

18 countries took part in the First Semi-final in order to qualify for 10 places available in Saturday's final. The ten qualifiers from the First Semi-Final were announced.

Moldova
Azerbaijan
Sweden
Greece
Portugal
Poland
Armenia
Australia
Cyprus
Belgium

The  second Semi-Final will be held on May 11. 18 countries will compete for 10 places in the Grand Final, as well.

Based on rules of the competition, the host country Ukraine and the "Big 5" countries Germany, Great Britain, France, Spain and Italy are automatically qualified for the final.
