“Scandal is mounting around both the church and government,” Chkondidi Mitropolit Petre Tsaava made this statement after he visited Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze, charged for having attempted to poison a high-ranking clergyman, in prison.

Mitropolit said he believed in Mamaladze’s innocence. He also criticized Georgian Patriarch’s Secretary-Referent Shorena Tetruashvili.
