Patriarchate releases statement about health condition of Patriarch

Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II feels well and will be transferred today to the intensive therapy unit – reads the statement released by Georgia’s Patriarchate. 

Ilia II underwent through a surgery. “On behalf of the Patriarch, we thank the clinic and the surgeon as well as Georgian population for support. Ilia II will be discharged from clinic presumably in one week,” reads the statement. 

As for Father Giorgi Mamaladze’s detention, the fact was unexpected for the patriarchate. “We will wait for results of the ongoing investigation,” says the statement.
