Tako Gachechiladze won the Georgian National Final. Gachechiladze will represent Georgia in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Keep The Faith. The winner was decided by a combination international jury and public votes. Keep The Faith was written by Tako herself and will be the 10th Georgian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest. The 2017 ESC will be held in Kiev's International Exhibition Centre. The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May, with the grand final on Saturday 13 May.

Tako Gachechiladze will present Georgia at 2017 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Kyiv, Ukraine. She won the Georgian National Final, with the entry song "Keep the Faith" .25 Participants took part in the contest. Winner of the National Final was chosen by professional juries and televoters. The money collected from SMS voting during the Georgian national final will be transferred to Dimitri Tsintsadze Charity Fund. Georgian National Final was held at Tbilisi Concert Hall. Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) provided live transmission of the show.Georgia first participated in ESC in 2007. The 2017 ESC will be held in Kiev's International Exhibition Centre. The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May, with the grand final on Saturday 13 May.

About 7 thousand delegates both from Tbilisi and regions will attend the Congress. Leaders of UNM will present speeches. Former President Mikheil Saakashvili will address the gathered audience through Skype from Washington. Members of Political Council and Chairpersons will be elected. Reportedly, the National Movement Political Board will have two co-chairmen – Nika Melia and Zaza Bibilashvili.

According to the National Democratic Institute (NDI) survey, 42% of respondents think that the new parliament will work much better than the previous one. The 30% of respondents believe that the new parliament will be the same, while 8% think that the new parliament will be worse than the previous one.The National Democratic Institute carried out the survey fieldwork from November 4 to December 4. 3 141 persons were interviewed face-to-face throughout the country (excluding occupied territories). The organization says the average margin of error is +/- 1.8%. The survey was funded by the Swedish International Development Agency and was carried out by CRRC-Georgia.

According to the National Democratic Institute (NDI) public survey, the majority of respondents - 47% think that there were no cases of pressure during the 2012 and the 2016 elections. The 17% of respondents claim that there was more pressure in the 2012 election than in 2016. Kyrgyzstan plane crash: Dozens die as Turkish cargo jet hits homes

A Turkish cargo plane flying from Hong Kong has crashed in Kyrgyzstan, killing all four crew members and at least 33 people on the ground, officials say, - BBC reported.The Boeing 747 aircraft operated by ACT Airlines crashed as it landed in fog at Manas airport, 25km (15 miles) north of the capital, Bishkek.At least 15 buildings were destroyed in a village outside the airport, with a number of children among the dead.Flight TK6491 was to have stopped at Manas en route to Istanbul in Turkey.ACT is an Istanbul-based airline operating under the name MyCargo. The plane is believed to have been about 14 years old.Deputy PM Muhammetkaly Abulgaziev said on state TV: "According to preliminary information, the plane crashed due to a pilot error."One witness, Baktygul Kurbatova, told local media: "I woke up because of a bright red light outside. I couldn't understand what was happening."It turns out the ceiling and the walls were crashing in on us. I was so scared but I managed to cover my son's face with my hands so that debris would not fall on him."

Murder case occurred in so called Kombinati district in Gori town, Shida Kartli region today. The case occurred in the yard of Nino Burjanadze - Democratic Movement Party office.Witnesses said that 60-year-old man entered the office from the Street, the attacked chased after and the man ran to the yard where the murder occurred.Reportedly, deceased man is the brother of a local businessman.Investigation is ongoing under the article 108 of Criminal Code.

“Santa Claus,” who robbed currency exchange booth, arrested

Adjara Police arrested a person, who robbed a currency exchange booth in one of the supermarkets in Batumi city. He was dressed as Santa Claus and committed the robbery on the night of December 31, 2016. The person, born in 1991, took away 8 820 GEL with the use of a toy gun. The defendant was arrested in the city of Batumi. The defendant has pleaded guilty. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
