Georgia defeated Germany in rugby with score 50:6

The Georgian National Rugby Team “Borjghalosnebi” held the match of Rugby Europe 2017 against Germany today and defeated the rival with score 50:6. As a result, Georgian team gained the bonus point and moved to the first place in the league table.The match has been held at Rustavi Rugby Stadium. First Channel of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) aired the match live. “Borjghalosnebi” will hold the next match against Spain on March 4.

Health condition of Giorgi Mamaladze is stable

According to Sopo Ungiadze, the head of the Cardiology epartment of the Chapidze Heart Clinic The health condition of Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze, charged for attempted murder, is stable. Doctor says that Giorgi Mamaladze is being treated for pneumonia and medical examinations are being carried out. He will  remains placed at Chapidze Heart Clinic under supervision of doctors for several days. The prison administration decided to hospitalize the detainee Giorgi Mamaladze as his health condition was unstable and turned to the worse on February 17.

After one and a half day pause Rustavi 2 TV Company has resumed broadcasting. TV Company is transmitting the protest rally in support of the TV Company in live air. Rally is ongoing at Rustaveli Avenue, Tbilisi. The participants, who gathered near chancellery and at Rose Square moved toward the Parliament building at Rustaveli Avenue.Rustavi 2 TV Company and its web-page worked in protest regime during one and a half day. Broadcasting was suspended.  Big Chamber of Supreme Court of Georgia will have to make a final verdict into Rustavi 2 case. The management of the TV Company talks about pressure on judges.

Belgium train derailment: One dead and many injured

At least one person has been killed and about 20 injured when a train carriage fell on to its side following a derailment close to the Belgian capital Brussels, railway officials say, - BBC reported.The accident happened as the train was departing Leuven station at a slow speed heading towards the capital.Emergency services were quick to arrive at the scene of the crash, which happened at 12:20 GMT on Saturday.The damaged carriage could be seen on its side part way down a slope.

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission commends Georgia's exceptional progress on its path toward the European Union, Federica Mogherini stated at today's meeting with Georgia's Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.The Prime Minister thanked the EU High Representative for her personal contribution to the successful finalization of the visa liberalization dialogue. Federica Mogherini emphasized that the European Union will complete the remaining procedures relation to visa waiver for Georgia in the nearest future.Different issues under the Association Agreement were also discussed. The Prime Minister stressed the Georgian Government's commitment to the effective implementation of the 2017-2020 Association Agreement Agenda.The parties also touched on the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit planned for late 2017.

According to the recording released today, Ilia II focuses on Deacon Mamaladze’s statements. The following sentence was cut out of the realeased video: ‘How come that father Giorgi speaks of different things sometimes? Who committed him to do this?’ – the Patriarch says.I have known father Giorgi for a long time and I have not seen and heard anything bad from him, - Georgia’s Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II said in a clinic in Berlin, Germany where he has recently underwent surgery. According to him, happiness and unhappiness are always together and when a person is happy he should expect unhappiness and vice versa.‘Unfortunately I had to arrive in Germany for the surgery. It was conducted successfully. Results are good and doctors will also make comments on it. I would like to refer to the abnormal and strange developments in relation to father Giorgi Mamaladze. I have known him for a long time and I have not seen or heard anything bad from him. How come that father Giorgi speaks of different things sometimes? Who committed him to do this?’ – he says in the full version of the audio address.The 31-year-old Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze was detained at Tbilisi International Airport on charges of an attempt of poisoning a high-ranking Georgian priest. He remains in jail so far, not pleading guilty.

Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze commented on launch of protest broadcasting by Rustavi 2 TV Company from Germany where Munich Security Conference is being held. Janelidze said that freedom of media was guaranteed in Georgia. “The case of Rustavi 2 is in court and making ado, attempt of destabilization and causing tension in public are less effective. Irakli Mamaladze says crime was plotted against Patriarch and his surrounding

Crime was prepared against Patriarch and his close surroundings, - Irakli Mamaladze, journalist and one of the witnesses into Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze, charged for having attempted to poison a high-ranking clergyman, said in an in interview with “Moambe” News Program of First Channel. The journalist said that he had business relations with the charged Archpriest. He then asked lawyer for consultations after he had learnt about the plotting crime and decided to present existing evidences to Prosecutor’s Office. He specified that the material included several video and audio recordings. Irakli Mamaladze hopes that he will be able to make them public soon.
